We have a new mural in Lawton, Fort Sill thanks to the talents of Justin Hackney and his company Spreading PAINTS. You've seen his work all around town from the murals that have been painted at the Vaska Theater on Ferris Ave. to his Beatles mural on the side of Phillips Music Company on Sheridan Road. His latest masterpiece is one of my all time favorites, the one and only "Dirty Harry!" You can find this on the side of Sanders Hardware located at 1214 N.W. Cache Road, you can't miss it!

I just re-watched all the Dirty Harry movies a few months ago, my son has never seen them so we binge watched them all over a weekend. He's now a BIG FAN of Clint Eastwood and the Dirty Harry series as well. They're great movies and contain some of the most icon lines to have ever been put on film. My all time favorite is from Dirty Harry the very first film in the series:

“I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots or only five? Well, to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being that this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question. Do I feel lucky? Well do ya, punk?”

This is the movie that started the love affair with the Model 29 Smith & Wesson 44 Magnum. It's still one of the most recognizable and iconic firearms of all time. If truth be told the gun was as big a part of the movies as Eastwood himself. You couldn't wait to see it out of the holster and being fired with it's signature flame throwing, big bang, low rumbling report. There's nothing quite like it!

Sure it's no longer "The most powerful handgun in the world" but it's still a great gun and load. To see it immortalized as a black and white mural on the side of Sanders Hardware is awesome! I love seeing all the new murals pop up around town and look forward to the next one. Although this one's gonna be hard to beat!
