Tilikum, the killer whale that killed trainer Dawn Brancheau by grabbing her ponytail and thrashing her under water, returned to big stage yesterday at SeaWorld in Orlando without incident.

The theme park declined to discuss which safety measures were put into place, but some were apparent. Female trainers wore their hair in high buns and stayed out of the water and off the stages and steel bars separated the whales from the main stages.

Although the crowd applauded and cheered throughout the show, some were concerned. Colleen Gorman of St. Petersburg Beach, Florida said, "I didn't see any new protective measures... he's a timebomb. If anyone gets near him... he's been linked to three deaths already, I'm afraid that if anybody comes close to him he'll do it again."
