Where to Live in Oklahoma to Make the Most Money
Yesterday I was obsessed about the health of Oklahoma. Kingfisher County (population about 15k) is the healthiest county in our state. Of the 77, Comanche County was not in the top 20 . . .or 30 . . or 40 . . . but was in the 50's.
That got me thinking about the relationship between money and health. So, I went diving into a few more statistics.
Did you know Kingfisher County is also the highest county with average pay per week? It beats the state average of $816 per week. It beats the national average of $940 per week. It's the ONLY county in Oklahoma to beak the US average, as a matter of fact. People in Kingfisher county make, on average, $979 per week.
So, live longer, be healthier and make more in Kingfisher County. I should put a copywrite on that. So, our obsession with the burbs and the farms of Kingfisher County continues. But, where does that leave us?
Way down the list at 33 is Comanche County. Stephens County fairs a little better at 11th place with an average weekly take of $835. Comanche County? $712 per week.
Now, before you start thinking we have some big problems, some of our close neighbors have it worse:
- Harmon is at $596
- Cotton is at $584
- Greer is $599
- Kiowa is $635
Before you start packing your bags, it might be good to know that Oklahoma is one of the least expensive places to live in the entire United States. Some of you might even be looking at the numbers and wish you were a little more average. Want to know what each county looks like?
