Whitney Cummings Posts Topless Photo After People Threatened to Extort Her
Whitney Cummings shared a topless photo of herself after "foolish dorks" attempted to extort her with it.
In a series of tweets, the comedian explained how she accidentally posted an Instagram Story that showed her nipple back in April, which resulted in people taking screenshots. So to prevent her alleged extortionists from making any money off her naked body, she went ahead and shared the nude selfie before anyone could.
"In April I accidentally posted an insta story that showed nipple," Cummings wrote on Twitter Monday (August 12). "Once I realized, I deleted. The people who took screen grabs are trying to get money from me, some said they have offers to sell them, some are asking for money to not post the photo."
In a second tweet, which she wrote alongside the topless photo, Cummings added: "They all must think I’m way more famous than I am, but they also must think I’m way more easily intimidated than I am. If anyone is gonna make money or likes off my nipple, it’s gonna be me. So here it all is, you foolish dorks."
In the screenshot, someone asks her: “How much would it cost to not share this photo?”
"When a woman in the public eye is extorted, we have to spend time, money and energy dealing with it, hiring lawyers and security experts, and living with a pit in our stomach about when and how we will be humiliated. Y’all can have my nipple, but not my time or money anymore," she continued.
The star of Netflix’s comedy special Can I Touch It? then went on to say that she won't be releasing the identity of her extortionists in case "some of them might be dumb kids." She said she doesn't want what they did to follow them around and appear on Google when anyone searches their name in the future.
Cummings' decision to post her own nude on social media is similar to what actress Bella Thorne did earlier this summer after a hacker threated to leak hers online.
