Does Oklahoma Have An Age Limit For Trick-Or-Treating?
Although Halloween is a time of year everyone in the country is allowed to enjoy, there are parts of the U.S. that limit who can enjoy the "trick-or-treating" portion of it. Is Oklahoma among the few that has an age limit?
Does Halloween in Oklahoma Have An Age Limit?
@abc7nyHow old is "too old" for canvasing for Halloween candy? According to a poll from Farleigh Dickinson University, Americans say kids should stop trick-or-treating when they're 13 and a half years old.
Unlike states like South Carolina, Virginia, and Illinois, Oklahoma does not have any age limit on trick-or-treating. In fact, the United States as a whole does not have a national age restriction on the celebration. Halloween this year can and should be enjoyed by everyone.

How Do Oklahomans Feel About Older Trick-Or-Treaters?
After we asked followers on Facebook what they would do if they got a 19-year-old trick or treater at their door on Halloween night, it was pretty clear that Oklahomans are not opposed to older visitors. Some of the comments were:
- "Give them candy of course they could be out doing so much worse." - Ky Carrion
- "Give them candy of course! There shouldn’t be an age limit on trick or treating." - Rachel Jackson
- "The ONLY right answer is.....let them choose candy or toy, like all the other kids, would you rather them be trick or treating or being at a party." - Damien Draper
- "Give them some candy, at least they are having fun and not out destroying property or partying, drinking and driving and possibly killing someone." - Cynthia Good
- "I’m gonna give them candy because they could be out doing way worse things. Our society has put this thought out there that after a certain age kids shouldn’t trick or treat anymore. Hell I’ll even give an adult candy if they come knocking dressed up." - Jessica Samide
It's pretty clear that most people in Oklahoma who will be handing out candy would be willing to hand candy out to anyone of any age. It's important to know who is handing out candy and other requirements for certain areas.
Important Rules and Expectations For Halloween Night
Although there are no age limits, certain towns do have a sort of "time limit" or designated time to do their trick-or-treating. Not all cities have them, like Oklahoma City, but certain neighborhoods may expecting visitors at certain times, so check with your local community pages and town hall for hours.

Between Halloween hours, residents who want to hand out candy should leave their porch lights on. You can also opt to sit on the front porch, leave your front door open or have a sign displayed in your front yard. I think it's safe to assume that if your house is adorned with interactive Halloween decorations, you'll probably be handing out candy.
This year's Halloween may be a little chillier than most, check out the updates about Halloween weather.
