I love radio, but I love it because it keeps me connected to people. I've done almost every job in the business and now I have the honor of working at this station! I am married to a wonderful (now) retired MSgt in the Air Force. The Darin makes regular appearances on my show, but he usually refuses to talk, so I have to tell all his stories for him. Dillon is my stepson and his stories are also familiar to those that listen regularly. Dillon could be the next me. He LOVES being on the radio. Most days, I work from home and do my show with a portable studio that was built for me since I am now semi-retired (at the ripe old age of 34). So, if you hear the dishwasher, the washing machine or the sounds of a 9 year old with his Lego, it's all good!

What’s For Dinner? Planning Your Menu Saves Money
Dinner is stressful at our house.
My hubby and I work all day -- usually get home at different times and struggle to get dinner on the table before 7:30 p.m., each night. I'm not sure how my parents got dinner on the table at 5 p.m., every weeknight -- but it's just NOT practical in my world.
Are Americans Getting Sick Of The Microwave?
Is America's love affair with the microwave over? Sales are down after peaking in 2004 and almost every home has one. The microwave pictured is the one that is in my parent's house right now. It has been in this position since we moved into the house when I was six years old.
The IRS Wants You To Know – The Federal Government Does Not Call Your House to Ask For Money!
If you can remember that, you likely won't be a victim of a tax scam.
Oh, one more thing: THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DOESN'T EMAIL YOU ASKING FOR MONEY, EITHER.
I Smell Something Burning
I think I heard that 10 times yesterday (Wednesday). Well, if you said it, too, you were right. There WAS something burning -- but it wasn't an accident.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service set the fire -- and controlled it -- so that Ft. Sill and the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge would be better protected this long, hot summer.
10 Things You Don’t Know About Oklahoma
I love some good trivia so with a little help from Google, here are 10 things you (probably) don't know about Oklahoma:
Spring Break Ideas
Spring Break is here and the kids are excited! However, parents are desperate. You are now given a full week where you are forced to have to do SOMETHING so your kids won't destroy the house.
Lawton Schedules Bulk Cleanup
As attractive as the couch on your porch is -- if it's time to redecorate your lawn and switch from old refrigerators to something like . . . grass . . . the city is getting ready for another round of bulk cleanups in April.
Here is how it works:
Recalled Beef: Why We Are Better Safe Than Sorry
CDC estimates that each year roughly 1 in 6 Americans (or 48 million people) gets sick, 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 die of food-borne diseases. Those are the kind of numbers that make you sit up and your gut roll just a little.
What My Kid Made for Dinner: Trailer Mac and Cheese
I am determined that when I release my stepson on the world he will know how to do his own laundry, clean his own bathroom, mow his own yard and cook his own food without using a microwave. To further this mission, Dillon (currently 12) is invited to cook dinner for the family about once a month. He picks the meal, finds the recipes and is the chef (although sometimes I'll step in as sous chef).
Tour the Wichita Mountains Historical Sites in March
For the next four Saturdays (March 8, 15, 22 and 29) the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge will host tours of historical sites. Most of the tour will be by bus, but you will have a chance to walk around at a few stops.
Sarah Palin Called It!
I wasn't extremely impressed by Sarah Palin and the way she presented herself and was portrayed by the media in the 2008 election. History will show, however, that she called it in regards to the current political issues in Russia and the Ukraine.
Americans Read Five Books A Year, What Are You Reading?
That number seems so low to me, but would probably seem like a good 'target' goal for my hubby.
The Pew Research Center says, on average, Americans read 5 books per year. 69% read at least one printed book, 28% have read an e-book and 14% have listened to audiobooks.
