Opening Weekend For Several U-Pick Berry Farms Across Oklahoma
Usually, Oklahoma's blueberry farms don't start opening until June and onward, but this year, things are running ahead of schedule. Out of the several scattered across the state, several blueberry farms will be allowing visitors to come and pick their own blueberries starting as early as Wednesday, May 28.
Most blueberry farms in Oklahoma will allow visitors to either pick their own fresh fruits or have staff pick some for them. If you've never picked blueberries before, you can always feel welcome to ask for assistance from staff before starting.
If you do plan to pick your own berries, it's a good idea to bring gloves, food-safe buckets or containers and wear plenty of sun protection like hats, shades and sunscreen.
Here are three major blueberry farms ready to open this weekend.
Endicott Farms in Mounds, Oklahoma
"We're opening... about 10 days earlier than originally planned," they wrote on their public Facebook page. Endicott Farms is just south of Tulsa, Oklahoma around 30 miles. They'll be allowing visitors to come start picking on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. No appointment is necessary!
Here you'll be able to take home as many berries as you want, just pick a minimum of at least 1/2 gallon for $20. One gallon of blue berries will cost the family $30, and two or more gallons will be $20 each.
Outback Farm in Pryor, Oklahoma
Another beautiful farm in northeastern Oklahoma is opening this weekend on Saturday, May 31, bright and early at 7 a.m. No appointment is necessary, just come prepared to leave with at least a gallon of blueberries.
They are one of the only farms to keep a supply of frozen blueberries on hand while supplies last, so Oklahomans can still get fresh fruit throughout the year without picking during the season.
Thunderbird Berry Farm in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
They're one of Oklahoma's family owned and operated berry farms in the northeast corner of the state celebrating their 20th year in business this year. They offer picking early in the mornings until noon, but there is one special evening on June 13 they intend on hosting a "pick-nic" but have yet to release the details.
They sell the u-pick experience by the pound, as well. Come and pick your own blue berries for $5 a pound or $7.50 for pre-picked berries.
