For years, the Leg Lamp in Chickasha, Oklahoma seemed like an innocent tribute to Christmas time in Oklahoma's own Christmas town. But behind every sweet sentiment is an arduous backstory that explains just how much work it took to make something it all happen.

After 5 years, director and producer, Reagen Elkins, is ready to finally release his retelling of how the Leg Lamp came to be. He managed to capture and film nearly every step of its introduction to Chickasha.

This Friday, November 7, the entire world will get to see the drama, the passion, and the fire it took to get the Leg Lamp up. We were able to see the premiere of the documentary Fragilé before its release this Friday and let's just say, we have some high expectations in 2026.

A Real 'Christmas Story' in Chickasha, Oklahoma ignited by the leg lamp.

Without spilling too much of the tea, I can safely say that we've had a real-life Christmas story happening all because of the "major award" that was introduced to Chickasha around 5 years ago.

The documentary was an incredibly hilarious, honest, and entertaining. Elkins did a fantastic job telling both sides of the Leg Lamp story, both from the perspective of people who supported the attraction and those who definitely opposed it.

Fragilé comes out on Vimeo on Friday, November 7, 2025.

The documentary, although very entertaining, will hopefully open the world's eyes to the people we have here in Oklahoma. "I hope that you don't just see the drama," Elkins said, "I was hoping to tell the true story about this wild, crazy leg."

He explained that, past all of the drama of the situation, there was a group of pretty amazing people in Chickasha that ultimately just wanted to see the town prosper. "You'll see the beauty of Chickasha [in the documentary], you'll see the Festival of Light, and you'll see a town that truly cares for their people," Elkins said.

The movie can be rented on demand or streamed on Vimeo on Friday, November 7, 2025.
