Finally, Oklahoma Gets A Weather Break Before Next Wave Of Weather
After a few days of rain, tornados and severe weather, Oklahoma has finally gotten a chance to catch our breath. Turns out the state has some clear weather forecasted ahead.
Severe Weather Previously in Oklahoma
Over the past week, Oklahoma has seen more rainfall. According to the mesonet rainfall map, most areas saw at least 1-2 inches of rain within the last 3 days. But the rain isn't the only thing that came.
Earlier this week, we were expecting severe weather and parts of the state got it. According to preliminary counts, at least six radar-confirmed nocturnal tornadoes came through parts of Oklahoma in the early hours on Monday, November 18. Reports of damage and results from the storms have yet to be released as of this writing.
Luckily, the worst seems to be done and now, Oklahoma can have a moment to breathe.
The Good News Ahead
Now that the severe weather has headed west, meteorologists have been predicting a nice quiet week ahead. Oklahoma Mesonet dropped a map showing a "7-day NON rain forecast" earlier today.
Other forecasters also predict that things are going to be quiet in the sooner state for at least a few days. Folks should enjoy the nice weather outside as much as possible since the following week may not allow for it. Rather than severe weather, the next big weather change will be coming sooner than you think.
When Will The Next Wave Of Severe Weather Hit?
According to some weather experts, next week's chances of having our first major winter storm is very likely.
Weather analyst Ryan Hall spoke about next week's chances for extremely cold temperatures in a recent weather overview video.
"There's another big blast of cold air potentially coming in, late next week, that'll come in the form of another big storm system that's going to send 20 to 30 degree below normal temperatures from Oklahoma up into the Rockies."

More local forecasters say the cold weather is coming this week, including low temperatures in the evening hours.
To put it short and sweet, Oklahoma is going to be seeing more cold temperatures than anything else in the next few weeks. Make sure you have everything ready by checking off the cold weather checklist below.
