Phantom Phone Syndrome, or more appropriately Phantom vibration syndrome is real.  According to Wikipedia :

Phantom vibration syndrome or phantom ringing is the perception that one's mobile phone is vibrating or ringing, when in fact the telephone is not doing so.

Phantom vibrations develop after carrying a cell phone set to use vibrating alerts. Researcher Michelle Drouin found that almost 9 of 10 undergraduates at her college experienced phantom vibrations.

I am not sure that I want to know what this means about our 'Always On' society and how we are attached to our mobile devices.  I do know that this has happened to me numerous times.  I won't go as far as once a week, but this morning I swore that my phone was vibrating in my back pocket, when in fact, my phone was in the front seat beside me... not ringing, or vibrating.

In the same study from 2012, conducted at the Indiana University - Purdue University, in Fort Wayne Indiana, it showed that out of 290 college undergrads surveyed, 89% of the students admitted to experiencing the phenomenon as often as every two weeks, but weren't particularly bothered by it.

How many times has it happened?  Are you addicted to your phone?  Have you turned around to go home and pick up your phone, or made special trip to pick up your left behind phone?
