For a second after seeing some recent photos of Lawton, Oklahoma, I started having Pandemic flashbacks. In stores all across Oklahoma, people are buying out eggs and now, families are left wondering where to find more. Thankfully, living in an agriculturally driven state has its advantages and finding farm fresh eggs is one of them.

Egg Shortage in Parts of Oklahoma

If you've been to your local walmart or grocery store, you've probably noticed the egg and toilet paper aisles looking a little more desolate than normal. Regardless of why, it's already proven to be difficult for families to find eggs shoppers have overstocked.

It makes me wonder though - do people realize that stocking up on eggs is not the same as toilet paper or face masks?

Is It Worth It To Stock Up On Eggs?

Unlike toilet paper, eggs do have an expiration date. To make them last longer, you'll need to:

  • Eat more eggs
  • Store them differently

Think to yourself: how often do you really eat eggs? Are you willing to put in the work and money it takes to store them differently so that they last longer than 5 weeks?

Ideas For Finding Farm Fresh Eggs

Personally, I wish we saw more of these self serve farm stand but unfortunately, Oklahoma hasn't caught on to this trend just yet. But, there are still plenty of people with plenty of animals who would love the chance to make some money.

When it comes to having animals and a farm, you'll realize pretty quickly that the animals have to pay for themselves in most cases. So, a few places to check for folks selling farm fresh eggs are listed in the gallery below.
