‘Fast Five’ and ‘Harry Potter’ Are Among the Most Pirated Movies of 2011
This is probably nothing our readers would ever think of doing, but a lot of people love ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2′ so much that they watch it illegally online. It’s true! TorrentFreak proved this fact by putting together a list of the 10 most-downloaded movies on BitTorrent, the file-sharing service, for the past year.
While it’s not a surprise that Harry and the gang made the list, it is shockingly only at number 10. If you can imagine it, there were actually nine movies more fun to pirate.
The number one movie on the list is ‘Fast Five,’ the fourth sequel in the Vin Diesel action series. It was downloaded 9.3 million times. That’s followed by the comedy sequel ‘The Hangover, Part II’ and the superhero movie ‘Thor.’
Most of the movies on the list are either big-action movies or comedies, so it’s good to see such a mature drama like ‘The King’s Speech’ on the list, too (at number nine). One can only conclude that the others made the cut because people are too embarrassed to be seen buying them in stores.
Here’s the full list:
1. ‘Fast Five’
2. ‘The Hangover, Part II’
3. ‘Thor’
4. ‘Source Code’
5. ‘I Am Number Four’
6. ‘Sucker Punch’
7. ’127 Hours’
8. ‘Rango’
9. ‘The King’s Speech’
10. ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2′
