We finally got to see the epic showdown we've all been waiting decades for. A colossal battle between two heavyweights in a no holds barred fight to the finish. This one was for the fans and it delivered on every level! If you're a Godzilla fan, King Kong fan or both, you have to see "Godzilla Vs. Kong." It was released yesterday (03-31-21) on HBO Max and in theaters. I've waited for what seems like forever to see this and I have to say I loved the movie and in my opinion it's the absolute best film from the MonsterVerse franchise.

I won't ruin it for you and you won't get any spoilers from reading this, you need to experience the movie for yourself. I'm excited to talk to you once you've seen it, there's so much to discuss. I made several calls last night to friends and family who watched it so we could talk about all our favorite parts and surprises. It was a fantastic movie and I think most, if not all fans would agree it was definitely worth the wait. For me it contained everything I ever dreamed about seeing when it comes to Godzilla and Kong going head to head. You won't be disappointed, especially if you're a fan.

Watching it last night reminded me of being a kid on Saturday nights watching the "Creature Features" on late night TV. It certainly has that familiar feel and look, just done much better and with incredible effects. It lived up to the hype, at least for me. Most of the criticism the move has revived are from people and critics who aren't really fans of Godzilla, Kong or any Kauji films. Saying things like the acting, character development and human interactions weren't well represented. Well that's not what fans want to see and that's not why you watch a movie like this. The creatures are the stars and main story, the humans are just a part of it.

Don't get me wrong I thought the acting was great too and that the story had a human element to it, but for me it was all about seeing Godzilla and Kong go at it. I'll be heading to the Vaska Theater this weekend to watch it again. A movie this epic has to be seen on the big screen with big sound to full appreciate it. They'll be showing "Godzilla Vs. Kong" through this Friday (04-02-21) at 5:45pm and 8:00pm. Additional show times will be posted on the Vaska Theater official Facebook page for the weekend.
