Giving Blood saves lives.  We know this.  Yet, there is a constant shortage of blood on hand, and donors.  We know that the COVID-19 virus has disrupted so many parts of our lives that we took for granted, and donating blood is one of those that we just can not forget about!

This weekend, a huge blood drive will take place at Comanche Country Fairgrounds, and each High School will benefit from donors!

The are calling it the Lawton Public Schools High School Blood Bowl.  Not the most appetizing title in the world, but it says what it is!  The High School with the most donors mentioning them will will the top cash prize of $750!  All three High Schools will get cash, and as we all know, the schools can use the extra money for students.

A blood drive of this magnitude can't just happen on it's own.  Big shout out to the Great Plains Coliseum at the Comanche County Fairgrounds for hosting the Blood Drive at their facilities, and Domino's Pizza who will be serving free pizza during the event.  Of course, Lawton Public Schools and the high schools that will be asking friends and neighbors to donate in their name.  Arvest Bank has also stepped up at a major sponsor.

This Saturday, August 21 st from 9am - 2pm at the Great Plains Coliseum, you can donate blood and save lives.  One donation has the potential to save 3 lives!  That sounds like a winning situation no matter how you slice it! Plus, you'll get a free T-Shirt just for donating.  You can make an appointment at obi.org, or by scanning the QR Code in the poster.  Save lives, help schools, this Saturday!
