International Festival Brings World Cuisines And Entertainment To Elmer Thomas Park

Lawton's top fall festival will mark its 47th celebration of the city's diversity with three days of food, entertainment and more. This year's International Festival is set for Sept. 25-27 in Lawton's Elmer Thomas Park.

During the festival, attendees can try cuisines from different countries, watch entertainment representing various cultures, and browse local vendors. This year's International Festival will also feature a soapbox derby, children's games, art and more.

Lawton's International Festival Food Trucks

One of the best parts about Lawton's International Festival is the opportunity to try various food vendors serving different types of cuisine. Lawton is already a melting pot of cultural food establishments, but the International Festival also features food trucks serving cuisine not available in Lawton, like Polish or Greek cuisine.

Lawton's International Festival Entertainment

The annual International Festival also features daily entertainment and evening headliners. During the day, festival goers can catch performances from locals representing their respective cultures. In the evenings, the International Festival will host headliners.

So far, the headliners announced for this year's festival include Joe Coover Magic and Mariachi Las Altenas.

Lawton's International Festival Post Contest Winner

Each year, the International Festival Committee hosts a poster contest for local artist to design the festival's poster. This year's winner is Jhazen Destiny Angeles, a junior at MacArthur High School. Angeles' design will be used on all promotional materials for this year's International Festival.

Attendees of the festival will have the opportunity to purchase t-shirts and posters featuring Angeles' design during the International Festival at the Information Booth.
