Kelly Clarkson Leaks New Track, ‘What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)’ [AUDIO]
Kelly Clarkson, who’s seen several tracks from her upcoming album leak well before their release date, decided to take matters into her own hands this week.
Clarkson took to Twitter and gave her followers an unexpected treat: a free download of the title track from her upcoming album, ‘Stronger.’
“Hey ya’ll,” Clarkson tweeted, “I heard that some versions of ‘What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)’ started showing up online. My new album ‘Stronger’ is out in 3 weeks (Oct. 24) and I want you to hear the real thing! Check it out!”
In the leakers’ limited defense, it’s easy to hear what they were excited about — ‘What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)’ is vintage Kelly Clarkson, with an anthem-like, instantly hummable chorus and lyrics about transcending the pain of heartbreak.
“You think you got the best of me / Think you had the last laugh / Bet you think that everything good is gone / Think you left me broken down / Think that I’d come running back / Baby you don’t know me, cause you’re dead wrong,” Clarkson sings in the verses, before delivering the kiss-off in the chorus: “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger / Stand a little taller / Doesn’t mean I’m lonely when I’m alone.”
‘Stronger’s’ first single, ‘Mr. Know It All,’ currently stands at Number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100.
