Things are, undoubtedly, far too stressful these days. Maybe that's why there's been such a strong shift towards nostalgic vibes. People have a longing for "the good old days" when it didn't feel the way it does now.

One bar in Oklahoma City has completely embraced the long-lost decades feel and look, which might be why so many people are running to see it. The Lamp Post Lounge sits just outside of the major Bricktown strip.

The Lamp Post Lounge was opened less than a year ago, in May 2025, so it's truly a novelty experience. Even if you've been to Bricktown thousands of times, there's still one place you've yet to see: the Lamp Post.

"The Lamp Post resurrects the good old days with style." - Jeff Rodgers, owner.

When the owner, Jeff Rodgers, envisioned this bar, he knew specifically that he wanted to capture the 70s and 80s feel. As he shopped around, he purposely collected items that looked like they came right out of "That 70s Show" or a disco.

Now, the Lamp Post Lounge is one of the only places in Oklahoma with perfectly lit disco floors, one of which features a dancing pole for you to let your fun side out. He also took extra care to include true elements that literally blast you to the past, like the working rotary phone and retro bar games like "Boomarang."

"The Lamp Post Lounge is more than a bar," he said, "It’s a full-blown time machine transporting you straight into the party decades of the 1950s through early 2000s—especially the funky ‘70s and ‘80s."

Every element of the Lamp Post Lounge is interactive and designed to spark joy.

Unlike most bars in Oklahoma that only have your typical pool table, a few darts boards, and possibly a shuffleboard table (if you're lucky), the Lamp Post has enough things to do for an entirely packed house.

As we mentioned, the rotary phone in the corner is completely functional - can you remember how it works? The dance floors change colors, the birthday chair highlights only the most special guests of the hour, and they even have old school television consoles playing classic 70s, 80s, and other throwback shows.
