The first classic rock song from the Melvins' upcoming cover album has arrived in the form of their take on 'You're My Best Friend' by Queen. 'Everybody Loves Sausages,' due April 30th, also finds the band tackling the Kinks and David Bowie, among others.

The group is joined on the track by vocalist Caleb Benjamin of Tweak Bird, and apart from having the main keyboard part sound like it was played on an Atari 2600 -- the kids will tell you that's called 8-bit music -- everything's played relatively straight, much like the band's 2012 cover of Paul McCartney's 'Let Me Roll It.'

As you may know if you keep up with this fiercely independent and impressively prolific band, there are currently two versions of the Melvins in action nowadays. However, unlike Queensryche, there's been no civil war dividing the group. Mainstays Buzz Osbourne and Dale Crover are joined by Jared Warren and Coady Willis in the four-man Melvins lineup, and by bassist Trevor Dunn in the three-piece Melvins Lite lineup.

Both configurations have just announced new tour dates in Europe and America, a complete listing of which can be found below.
