Mötley Crüe have become known for their incredible stage show over the years, but a lengthy plane delay forced them to deliver their July 25 performance in Paso Robles, Calif., without their usual pyrotechnics.

The San Luis Obispo Tribune reported that the band's show, a double bill with Alice Cooper that was part of the town's annual Mid-State Fair, had to be bumped back from a scheduled start time of 7:30PM due to a late departure from Seattle following the artists' July 24 performance at the Tacoma Dome. By the time they took to the air, the concert had to be pushed to 10PM.

Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx relayed the news on Twitter, explaining that "major plane problems" kept them from an on-time arrival and adding, "just arrived minus our production but we are playing anyway. Raw & dirty." While that meant fans wouldn't be able to take in the array of special effects they've developed over the years — including the new "Transformer" stage they recently debuted — Sixx responded to a fan's tweet about loving a similarly stripped-down show in New Zealand by insisting, "WE LOVE IT DIRTY. THANK YOU." After it was all over, Sixx thanked the band's crew for making it all happen in spite of the problems:

Fortunately, things went more smoothly after the band wrapped up in Paso Robles, and their entourage made it to the next stop in Billings, Mont. without issue. In fact, as drummer Tommy Lee told his Twitter followers after the show, they even managed to set off the fire alarm:

Mötley Crüe's final tour continues through the end of the year, finishing with what's being billed as their last-ever show on New Year’s Eve show at the Staples Center in their hometown of Los Angeles.
