Oklahoma Small Town, Known For Popular Sale, Left Severely Damaged
Following severe weather in parts of Oklahoma last night, Mountain View's sale barn announced that they would not be hosting their usual horse sale for July due to damage.
In a town where the most exciting things every year are the fair, harvest and the monthly sale, it's a pretty big deal when you might not be able to make one happen.

From photos, it seems as though the building that the sale usually happens had pieces of roofing and siding thrown yards away all around the area.
The good news is, according to sale barn staff, the barn itself is "repairable" but the warehouse across the street is considered "a total loss."
Throughout the night, there was a warning for hail and damaging winds up to 70 miles per hour. As of now, there aren't any reports of any injuries or casualties, just a lot of mess to pick up.

The Mountain View Horse Sale has been known for decades to bring people from all over Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and other areas together.
Usually held every fourth Saturday of each month, they would auction off horses, tack, trailers, equipment and western novelty items.
Out of the handful of auctions in Oklahoma, the Mountain View horse sale is well known because of the friendly and good-natured people that run it. The barn may not be very big, but people's expectations are still high when they come - for a good reason.
The sale barn had recently changed hands of ownership, hopefully the expected damage didn't scare the new owners off. But, it sounds like they are still planning on putting things back together.
This is a hard working community and dedicated new owners, surely things will be up and running in no time.
If you're wanting to attend the next sale, it's best to follow their page for updates on when they will be able to host the next.
