For as long as I remember, I loved to read.  I blame my grandmother.  She used to read to all of her grandchildren whenever we were all together at her house.  The Adventures of Tom Sawyer was one of my favorites!

'There is no friend as loyal as a book' - Ernest Hemingway

Then once school started, we read the Little House on the Prairie books in class, and all of the Flowers in the Attic series on my own.  I'll even admit to reading all of the Hunger Games and Twilight series and loved them.  Plus, the 50 Shades of Grey books, all except the last one.

I'm a real stickler when it comes to movies or books.  I MUST always read the book first.  I don't want to be disappointed when the movies leave things out, so I give all of my love to books first.

I'm a huge Nicholas Sparks fan too.  Yes, they are all romances, but he is such a great writer that the romance is really secondary to the story.  I have even gone as far as buying the complete works of Nicholas Sparks because I love all of the stories and want to read them over, and I have missed a few on the way.

When I was gathering up books that have been stored in my garage since I moved into my Momma's old house, I got the notion that maybe some of my co-workers would enjoy reading some of my favorites too.  One of the hotels that I stayed at had a borrow one/leave one book sharing club, so I thought that could work for our office too.

I'm super excited that we have finally got our Little Lending Library set up!  I brought my entire collection of Nicholas Sparks, and Kaley, one of our co-workers brought all of the Bridgerton books. (Just grabbed book number 2 in that series to start as soon as I finish the one I'm on at the moment!)

In the last month, I've finished 'Where the Crawdads Sing", "The Duke and I" (Book 1 in the Bridgerton series), and the newest show on Prime Video, "The Summer I Turned Pretty." I'm a little obsessed with reading. What a great way to get lost. But, alas, reading isn't cheap. Where once you could buy a paperback book for less than five bucks, I'm paying $10-$13 per book now. The lending library for the win!  At least I'll be able to finish the Bridgerton without having to take out a loan! On any given day, I have no less than three books in my cart at Amazon!

Lawton's Worst Roads As Voted By You

Roads have always been a hot topic in Lawton. The local government always promises to fix them when elections are at stake, but the improvements never come. It's more of the same crumbling roads and bandaid patches due to what the city describes as "too little funding," even though we continually vote for bonds to satisfy these issues.

Here are the worst commonly used roads in Lawton as voted by you.
