No Drinking & Driving
You've probably seen it on TV. It was probably made fun of. The little device that you have to blow into before your car will start to make sure y ou are under the legal alcohol limit to drive. That could soon be a reality in Oklahoma.
The Erin Elizabeth Swezey Act passed the OK senate and has been sent to the house for a vote. If approved and inacted, the bill would require an ignition interlock system on a convicted DUI for two years post-conviction.
The measure is named for a 20-year-old Edmond woman killed by drunken driver.
If a person has a second DUI conviction, they would have the lock on their car for five years and a third would keep that in their car for eight years.
