Oklahoma Will See First Autumn Freeze Next Week

It may be warm right now, but the first autumn freeze of the season will begin trickling through Oklahoma next week. True fall weather is definitely on the horizon!

Oklahoma has had a few tastes of fall temperatures since the first official day of fall back in September. And hopefully with this week’s cooldown, fall temperatures will be here to stay.

Time to get ready for the first frost of the season!

With these cooler temperatures on the way, it’s time to start prepping for the first frost of the season! According to the National Weather Service in Norman, we’re a little under a week away for the first freeze of autumn. It looks like the first freeze will make it to northwest Oklahoma, starting Oct. 15-18 or Oct. 18-22. The rest of Oklahoma could see the first freeze anywhere from Oct. 23 to Nov. 16. So by Thanksgiving, Oklahoma should finally be free of warm temperatures!

Will Halloween be chilly or warm?

For a while, the Farmers’ Almanac was predicting that the first frost will land in Oklahoma by Oct. 31. Well, they’re not techno wrong. When it finally comes, it’ll be different days for various areas of Oklahoma.

I can remember Halloweens where I was sweating while trick-or-treating and where I was FREEZING. With Oklahoma fall, it’s impossible to know when you’ll need a jacket or not. But this year, you might want to keep one on hand when you’re getting ready for Halloween festivities. Temperatures could be anywhere from the low 70s to high 40s. But if Oklahoma does what it does best, the weather could change the last second!
