The Best Sea Food Places in Land Locked Oklahoma
What's cool about living in Oklahoma? Well, not a whole lot during the summer (dad joke). Seriously, though, we do have a diverse group of people living in this state. Even if we are land locked, we try to bring a little bit of everything here, including sea food.
It may not be as fresh as catching it right off the coast, but these places here in Oklahoma give you the closest experience to authentic as we can get. We asked on Facebook for the best and here they are.
Pearl's Restaurant Group - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
One of the recommendations on our Facebook page was for Trappers in Oklahoma City. A few others also recommended Pearls in OKC. Come to find out they come together, part of the Pearl's Restaurant Group.
Nestled right next to one another in Bricktown, each restaurant gives you your own unique sea food experience. Want class and that high class feeling while you dine? Pearl's cocktail oyster bar might be the best choice.
Do you want the true fisherman-style experience and to be greeted by a bear right as you walk in? Head to Trappers Fishcamp and Grill.
Have a hanckering for a crab boil? Crabtown is right next door in a newly renovated 20,000 square foot building in Bricktown. Silverware not required - seriously.
If you're asking yourself if you'll get the true cajun taste, Crabtown sounds like the way to go.
Bills Fish House - Waurika, Oklahoma
Now it may not be sea food, but it is fresh fish - catfish, to be specific. They've been open since 1962 and serve catfish right from their own farms. It may become better than the catfish you catch on your next fishing trip.
Crawfish Pot - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
The Crawfish Pot is where you go to get your own personal authentic crawfish boil. "Louisiana style boiled seafood and cravings with a little asian fusion" is what they're about. They even have a "catch of the day" and "boil special" to help bring you a step closer to the coastal experience.
Hook and Reel - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Picture this: Red Dirt Reloaded in Lawton meets sea food. Hook and Reel has the comfort and charm of an upper-class bar with fresh cajun style cooking. Ditch the fork and knife and dig right in with the gloves they'll provide.
It looks like a place you could go just to hang out and have some appetizers while enjoying the views and atmospohere around you.
The Drake - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Here's a high-class almost suit and tie sea food experience in Oklahoma City. They have a cool "treasure chest" option that allows you to try the freshest oysters, shrimp, crab and more. They include a menu that tells you where the food comes from and what tastes best with each option.
The food isn't the only thing that looks delicious, either. Have you seen these drinks?
Catfish Cove - Yukon, Oklahoma
Have you ever seen sea food on buffet (besides at Golden Corral)? They serve it fresh at the Catfish Cove, along with 'all you can eat' crab legs, and so much more. Rumor has it they are opening a location in Norman, Oklahoma - for now, the southern style Catfish Cove is only in Yukon.
Honorable Mentions:
Walmart
"The best Altus is basically Walmart sushi."
