Wednesday evening was such a beautiful night. I came home from work and had to immediately make a bottle for the 2 calves we have out in the lot; a set of twins that will need to have their mommas milk supplemented until they get a little older. After finishing in the barn I came up to the house and noticed that the lilac bushes were starting to get buds on them. These lilac bushes are very special to The Mace Place.

These lilac bushes are over 100 years old! David's great grandmother planted the lilacs along the drive when they first built the house. There are pictures of those lilacs in pictures dating back to the early 1900's when the house was first built. In this photo you can see the house behind the bushes.

I love to open up my living room windows to let the smell of the lilacs drift through the house. You just can't duplicate that smell.
