Oklahoma is what some could say a breeding ground for great talent. Even for artists who weren't from here, there are still places that have helped some of music's greatest musicians reach their potential. Was Oklahoma one of the places that helped one of the biggest stars in pop music, Taylor Swift?

Before Taylor Swift tore up the pop scene, we all know that she started as a country music artist. So it makes sense that, out of the few times she performed in this state, most happened in her career's earlier days.

According to Tulsa World, Taylor Swift was actually an opening act for the group Rascal Flatts. She opened for them at the BOK center in 2008, just a year before she kicked off her Fearless Tour, which eventually made its way back to Oklahoma.

Taylor was back a year later headlining her first sold out show in Oklahoma at the start of the Fearless tour. In September, she put on one of the most elaborate shows and even impressed some folks who wandered towards the center. In an online review of the show, they wrote "I’ll be watching young Ms. Swift. I hope that she can stay centered and grow and prosper in her career and develop as a person. She is off to a great start." Little did they know just how much she would prosper.

This was one of the first shows that had Taylor performing some of her very first hits like "Teardrops On My Guitar," "You Belong With Me" and "Tim McGraw." At the end of the show, she told the crowd "Oklahoma City, I hope you know that I’m going to love you forever. Thank you so much," according to a concert review from The Oklahoman.

Taylor sold out the show once again in Oklahoma a few years later when she came back for her "Speak Now" tour. While performing for an estimated 13,000 - 15,000, she showed more of her love for story telling with both her songs and her on stage performances. Needless to say, her hard and ellaborate work paid off.

Where should Taylor Swift Play in Oklahoma?

Knowing that Taylor's crowds are pretty much sold out shows all over the world, whatever venue she plays must have a massive amount of seating/standing room. In my opinion, the venue would also need to be massive to fit the stage set up, lighting and intricate details that her shows require. If I were to pick, I would say Taylor could definitely perform at:

Maybe one day we'll see her back here in Oklahoma again (make a wish). Where would you want to see her at if she played here in Oklahoma? Message us your thoughts through the app now.
