Ted Nugent on Ferguson Grand Jury Decision: ‘Justice is Served’
Rock star and noted political conservative Ted Nugent has declared his approval of a grand jury's decision not to indict Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson on charges related to the shooting death of Michael Brown.
Brown, an 18-year-old African-American man, was shot and killed by Wilson, a 28-year-old white police officer, on Aug. 9 after an altercation whose nature has been highly disputed over the last few months. Wilson's supporters say he was acting in self-defense, while Brown's backers believe the officer used excessive force and was not in sufficient danger to justify his response.
The incident sparked riots that lasted for weeks in Ferguson, a suburb of St. Louis, and the announcement of tonight's decision has already resulted in more of the same. Angry people on both sides of the debate have taken to Twitter, including the always politically active Nugent.
While blaming his longtime target, President Obama, for creating "the worst race relations in 50yrs," Nugent made his views on the situation clear with a quick succession of posts to his Twitter account -- declaring that Wilson did "good," Brown did "bad" and that "justice is served."
