The Texas Rangers kicked off the 2012 Major League Baseball season with a win over the Chicago White Sox.

Texas Rangers’ offensive star, Ian Kinsler, stole the game as he homered during the game, also scored twice for the Rangers. The game ended with a 3-2 victory for the Rangers.

The Rangers also had an advantage as their starting pitcher, Colby Lewis, struck out nine times. Three relievers then worked scoreless innings, with new closer Joe Nathan coming in to a win by finishing a perfect ninth inning.

The Rangers will play against the White Sox again this Saturday at 7:05 p.m.

After the game last night Kinsler said on ESPN: “You come in here and you play for your teammates, you don’t play for yourself,” he continued “My main focus is to play hard for my teammates and do what I can to win a game.”
