Southwest Texoma Losing Half Of Bed, Bath, & Beyond Stores
It was announced almost three weeks ago that retailer giant Bed, Bath, & Beyond would be permanently shutting the doors and closing down some 150 "low performing" stores across the country, and we were naturally curious if the Lawton store would be included.
It was a fair question... Lawton is one of the smallest markets in the BB&B portfolio, plus Lawton has had its fair share of big businesses leave town for one reason or another...cough, cough, city council, cough, cough... but it turns out, while Lawton's BB&B may be on the smaller end of the spectrum, it was not one of the 150 low-performing stores on the cut list.
Wichita Falls wasn't as lucky...
In a real shocker, it was announced that WFalls close their Bed, Bath, & Beyond store on the lines of store performance and profitability, but the story doesn't end there.
While the Lawton BB&B is safe for now, there's no guarantee it'll last long in its survivor status. Amid constant questions concerning the possibility of additional future closings, the retailer is staying very tight-lipped on the subject... after all, BB&B said they would close the 150 lowest performing stores... only 56 have been announced so far.
Time will tell the fate of Lawton's bedding store. I'll be upset because it's the only place you can get a quality body pillow cover without paying an arm and a leg, but then again, there's always the website to ship it directly to your home.
Here's the full list of store closings.
