Usually I don't really pay any attention to Christmas commercials until after Thanksgiving, but this one is an exception. It's early but I would say we could easily be seeing the single greatest Christmas commercial of 2020. More adds will follow but this one will be hard to beat. It's from a grocery supermarket in Ireland called SuperValu and really touches upon what's really important this year during the holidays.

It's a great commercial and it certainly hits you right in the feels...Hard. It'll leave you wondering "Who's cutting onions." While the holidays have always meant spending time with family and friends, this year in particular it's even more important. Due to the pandemic a lot of families aren't certain that they'll be able to see or spend any real time with their loved ones and friends. It's not the same when you can't be with them.

While we're seeing an increase in positive COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations here in S.W. Oklahoma Lawton, Fort Sill and Comanche County are still doing better than other places in the country. Sure it's bad and there's definitely a spike, but it could be a lot worse. I've been very fortunate that all of my family and friends so far have been doing well and are healthy. At this time we're still planning on spending Thanksgiving and Christmas together unless things change for the worse. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

We'll be doing all the usual things: social distancing, masks and sanitation in the hopes that we can all be there and not worry too much about COVID-19. Sadly not all families will have the same opportunity and will have to go through the holiday season separated. I hope whatever your plans and whoever you'll be spending your holidays with that you all stay safe and healthy. Here's to hoping 2021 is better!
