True security from your food is not just knowing where it comes from, but knowing exactly how its handled from being pulled from the ground or tree. These places in Oklahoma allow you to pick your food right from their garden.
Larhill Farms - Purcell, Oklahoma
Just south of Oklahoma City in Purcell, Oklahoma, visitors are welcome to come and pick crops right from the garden at Larhill Farms. Keep in mind that they only accept cash for services and food. Agape House Berry Farm - Mustang, Oklahoma
Another u-pick farm in Oklahoma has been busy in the midst of blackberry and blueberry picking season. Not only do they allow visitors to pick a variety of berries throughout the year, they also teach classes on how to use the crops they're taking home.
Keep in mind that pets are not allowed on the property and, if you intend to bring service animals, you will need to call ahead and notify the property owners so they can make arrangements with their personal animals. But, even if the pets have to stay home, the kiddos are encouraged to come along.
The Burress Homestead - McLoud, Oklahoma
Before June wraps up, you'll want to make a trip to the Burress Homestead to catch the full bloom of their lavender plants that you're able to pick yourself. They also offer fresh lavender lemonade and even have goats on the property for everyone to interact with while enjoying the fruits of their labor.
Oklahoma Tulips - Harrah, Oklahoma
When you visit your favorite sunflower patch this summer, you may not be able to take the gorgeous flowers home with you - unless you're at Oklahoma Tulips. They've just officially opened for the 2024 season and the flowers are in full bloom. It's amazing how many variations of sunflowers there are, just take a look for yourself.
Their hours are fluctuating, so it's important to check their social media and website before planning to visit. Once again, pets are not allowed, but they encourage the entire family to come along and enjoy the view. Luckily, they do accept cash and card.
Joes Farm - Bixby, Oklahoma
While many u-pick farms may be shutting things down for the spring season, Joe's Farm is picking up with summer produce. Visitors are able to pick their own berries, tomatoes and flowers. While there, the farm is also stocked with fresh watermelon, cantelope, peaches and corn and so many more crops.
