Owning pets is never cheap. Between the vaccinations, surgeries, medications, grooming care and so many other things, it's a wonder any of us still have money left over.

It helps to get a financial break wherever you can when you own animals. While there are already several benefits to owning a pet in a state like Oklahoma, another opportunity just introduced itself in Lawton.

The Lawton Veterinary Hospital is offering a one-of-a-kind opportunity that not many other clinics do. It will be especially helpful for those who have just gotten a new puppy or kitten and plan on living in Lawton throughout the animal's lifetime.

Lawton Veterinary Hospital offering vaccines for life enrollment for Lawtonians.

Until October 31, 2025, the Lawton Veterinary Hospital is enrolling clients in their vaccines for life program. In short, clients pay $350 one time and the vaccinations, fecal tests, heartworm tests for dogs only, one FIV/Felv test, puppy and kitten boosters, and office visit fees are all waived for the animal's entire life.

Although it might sound like a lot at one time, just imagine how much we've all spent collectively on one animal's tests and vaccines. Most people spend that $350 on their animal in the first three years alone.

But before you enroll your pet with the Lawton Vet, make sure you know for certain that you'll be keeping this pup or kitten for their entire life.

What happens if you move or rehome the animal?

Unfortunately, the vaccines for life deal is only applicable at the Lawton Veterinary Hospital. According to their promotional information, "if the pet is transferred to another owner this program will no longer be valid."

It's also important to remember to bring your pet to their annual exams every year, as the program will be voided if you miss the exam.

Are there other cost-friendly options for caring for my pet in Oklahoma?

Here in Lawton, it is widely known that one of the more affordable places for getting vaccinations, spays, and neuters is at the ABC Clinic. However, because they're one of the cheapest around, they are almost always too busy to see new clients promptly.

However, there are a few other veterinarians in Lawton or in the southwest region, including:

All About Pets Veterinary Clinic - Lawton, Oklahoma

Meadow Wood Animal Hospital - Lawton, Oklahoma

Oakridge Animal Center - Lawton, Oklahoma

Freeman Veterinary Clinic - Lawton, Oklahoma

Lawtonka Animal Hospital - Lawton, Oklahoma

Midtown Animal Hospital - Lawton, Oklahoma

Southwest Vet Clinic - Elgin, Oklahoma

Happy Hollow Animal Hospital - Elgin, Oklahoma

Beavers Animal Hospital - Lawton, Oklahoma

Chambers Veterinary Clinic - Lawton, Oklahoma

Creekside Animal Hospital - Lawton, Oklahoma

Gore West Animal Hospital - Lawton, Oklahoma

Fort Sill Veterinary Clinic - Fort Sill, Oklahoma

While some are more expensive than others, some clinics do take CareCredit or Scratchpay. There are also some clinics that offer special discounts on vaccinations or spays/neuters, depending on their own policy.

There are also groups like the Comanche County Pet Resource Foundation that help cover the cost of spays and neuters, depending on how many donations they've received.

Ask your own vet if they have annual discounts, or visit the Lawton Veterinary Hospital for information about enrollment.
