I have to admit, I'd never heard of National Homeless Animal Day, but if it is on the internet, then it must be true, right?

I have a heart for dogs, especially little ones.  I can't even imagine the fear that comes from being a small helpless animal and not having a home or food, or water.  That, unfortunately is way to prevalent in many populations, including Lawton Fort/Sill. Even those agencies that are designed to help are feeling the strain of overcrowding. That's the case of our own Rainbow Bridge Can Wait Animal Rescue.

Currently Rainbow Bridge Can Wait are over capacity dogs at their facility.  They are encouraging citizens to help out by adopting at this weekends Adoption event.

This Saturday from 11am-3pm at the Pet Smart location at 82nd and Quannah Parker Trailway, Rainbow Bridge Can Wait Animal Rescue will have several dogs up for adoption.  Maybe this is the weekend that you can finally find that Fur-ever friend.  One who will wait patiently for you to come home every night, and curl up beside you on the couch, feeling safe for what may be the first time in it's life.

Rainbow Bridge Can Wait and Geo Training Program also have dogs that will be completing their training that will be ready for adoption AFTER Saturday, August 21st as well.  You can complete the adoption applications by contacting the Rainbow Bridge Can Wait Animal Rescue by emailing RCVWapps@gmail.com.

I actually have a dog that I rescued, and she has made all of the difference to our family.  While she wasn't mistreated in any way.  She was in a home that she could no longer stay in.  Brooks is now part of our family.  Help if you can!
