Will Rocklahoma Require Proof of Vaccination or a Negative COVID-19 Test?
We're only a few short weeks away, counting the days before Rocklahoma 2021. The mega three day, three stage, live music festival invades Pryor, OK. the "Catch the Fever Festival Fairgrounds" on Labor Day weekend. News broke a few days ago about AEG Presents and other concert/festival organizers and promoters requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to attend concerts and/or festivals.
As you can imagine this has caused a lot of concern and controversy online and elsewhere as people debate the issue. Yes it's true AEG Presents the promoter or organizer of ROK21 has came out and said they would start requiring these things moving forward. However, it's looking like it won't take affect until October 1st.
You can visit the official AEG Presents website for the health policy update and statement. At this time it doesn't look like proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will be required to attend Rocklahoma 2021. If you go to the ROK official Facebook page it states that they "strongly encourage" festival goers to do these things, but it doesn't say "required or mandatory." See the post below for details:
Rocklahoma will happen Labor Day weekend on Friday, September 3rd through Sunday, September 5th before the October 1st deadline that AEG Presents has put in place for their COVID-19 protocols and policies. So why October 1st? Well, that will give people the chance and time to get fully vaccinated. After that date you will have to show proof of vaccination or have a negative COVID-19 test 72 hours before the concert/event.
More and more promoters and organizers will be requiring proof of vaccination and/or a negative COVID-19 test in the future, or at least until the recent surge has slowed or stopped. Hopefully things will improve and we'll see an end to the Coronavirus and the Delta variant sometime soon.
In the meantime if you're planning to take the trip to Pryor for Rocklahoma 2021 have a great time, have fun and be safe. Z94 will be there all three days broadcasting live from "Radio Row" so stop by and see us!
