Excitement Builds For Lawton’s New Chick-fil-A Restaurant

Earlier this year, news was released that Lawton, Oklahoma was going to get another Chick-Fil-A fast food restaurant somewhere in town. The staff at Lawton's Chick-Fil-A have been keeping the news under wraps, only sharing a sneak peek every now and again via social media.

At the time of the announcement, folks weren't sure where the second location was going to be put, but now we know for sure.

On Monday, June 2, bright and early at 8:30 a.m., Lawton's Chick-Fil-A staff invited select community members to join them for the ground breaking ceremony where the new location is expected to be built. Lawton West will be built at the corner of 82nd and Cache Road.

Construction for the new location is expected to start two weeks from the ground breaking ceremony, weather permitted. Although a specific date is not currently set for the new location to be open, Chick-Fil-A leadership has confirmed the store will be up and running before the end of 2025.

For those that were speculating that Lawton's west side of town is getting most of the new traffic, it seems to be true; at least in Chick-Fil-A's case and their newest edition, the first ever standalone Spencer's location that is hosting their grand opening soon.

What will the new Chick-Fil-A location look like?

The second Chick-Fil-A store will be the newest prototype, according to Lawton's Chick-Fil-A owner and operator, Jonathan Pickett. "This one will be a longer store," he said, "it's a two-acre lot."

The new location will have all of the same services as the original spot in Lawton and a few other perks, such as Chick-Fil-A delivery. "We probably won't open up with delivery right away, just so we can work out some of the new store kinks, but it will start back up soon," Pickett said.

Lastly, the new location will be adding even more team members to Lawton's enormous amount of staff, which is 110 people currently. After the new location is opened, there should be around 180 to 190 team members.

According to Pickett, they'll be encouraging staff that live around the west side to work at Lawton West and really only bringing leadership from the first location to work here at the new spot.

Lawton's Chick-Fil-A ranks highest in sales in the state of Oklahoma, among other successes.

The new location's staff will have a lot to live up to. After all, ever since the first stand alone Chick-Fil-A store came up in Lawton in 1995, they've been setting the highest example for other stores.

This year, Lawton's store ranked the highest in sales in the entire state of Oklahoma, according to Pickett. "We've been at the top, number one or two, the last few years, so not Edmond, not Yukon, but Lawton."

Lawton's store is also known for exceptional food safety, which earned them the title of the "Gaurdian of the Brand." Chick-Fil-A stores earn this title from a third party company that comes in unexpectedly to check the store's food quality. Thanks to diligent staff at Lawton's current location, they've earned four Elite food safety scores in a row.

Not to mention, there aren't many places that guests can go for lunch during peak times in Lawton, along with another 150 vehicles, and still get their food in under three minutes.
