Dogtober Fest in Oklahoma City Happening October 18, 2025
It might only be August, but the fall will be here before you know it! When things finally do cool down, Oklahoma lights up with festivals and events to get everyone outside. And we mean EVERYONE - including those furbabies.
This October, Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is hosting one of the coolest events to celebrate dogs and even match adoptable dogs with new owners. They've already started sharing the news about this fall's Dogtober Fest.
They'll have contests, games, vendors and even novelty experiences you don't find many other places all wrapped up in Earlywine Park on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Dogtoberfest is back as one of the few fall events in Oklahoma where your furry friend is truly welcome.
Last year's Dogtoberfest was a success and hard to top. But this year, they're hoping for even larger pet-loving crowd. The Animal Welfare confirmed that they'll be bringing back the costume contests, food trucks and their PUPkin patch.
Something that always blows my mind is that, despite how family-friendly they are, most pumpkin patches in Oklahoma don't allow pets since they usually have livestock on the property.
In fact, last year, Oklahoma only had one pet friendly pumpkin patch in the state. So if you want to include your furbaby in some fall fun, this is one of the rare occasions that you'll be able to include them.
They'll also have several local adoption groups with their pups ready to play their part in the Walk with Shelter dogs and other events.
Be a vendor & help Oklahomans take advantage of pet-friendly events like Dogtober Fest.
Despite how expensive pets can be, Oklahoma has a few places that make owning an animal more affordable than other cities in the country. According to a recent study from WalletHub, Oklahoma City ranked 25th in the nation for Pet Budget, while Tulsa ranked second in the country.
Sure, we could use some work on our pet's overall health and wellness, but that's why events like Dogtober are so important. They give Oklahomans an opportunity to get out and active with their pets and take advantage of resources for pet owners.
Right now, Dogtober Fest is still in its planning stages and OKC Animal Welfare is seeking vendors for the event, especially pet-related businesses. While large events like this usually charge businesses a fee for setting up, the OKC Animal Welfare won't be.
