Several Duncan residents has stepped up to make sure that Kylo, one of the department’s K9 officers, stays safe while duty.

After discovering that not all of the department's K-9 officers is protected while on the job, local resident Paula Stafford stepped up and donated a bullet proof vest to the department for K9 officer, Kylo who is proudly making use of the vest to stay a bit safer while on patrol.

But, the donated vest isn’t the only new addition to the Duncan Police Department when it comes to their K9 counterparts. Two other groups teamed up and donated a door-popper device, which opens the patrol car door, allowing Kylo's handler to release the back doors while away from the unit. This allows the K9 officer to exit and enter the car at the handlers command during any situation.
