It's a FREE 12-week course that gives Lawton citizens the opportunity to get to know officers and learn all about the various operations and departments of LPD. It's a great program, I was in Class #03 years ago and had a blast. Class #24 is coming up this Thursday (01-05-23).

You'll learn a lot and have a great time. It's very hands-on and you get to see and meet all the different departments from patrol, K-9 Unit, detective, CSI, narcotics, SWAT, and more. When I went through CPA we got to do a ride-along, tour the police department and dispatch, go to the gun range, watch several demonstrations, and even got to experience a mock crime scene and see how the detectives solve crimes.

It's a  really cool experience, so if you have the opportunity you should definitely go. Plus, you'll meet a lot of people and make a ton of new friends. So how do you sign up for CPA? Visit to sign up digitally or to print an application. You can also pick up an application at the Lawton Public Safety building located at 100 S.W. Railroad Street.
