Currently, authorities are hunting for three young men: Davantae Winters, Michael Brown and Hector Hernandez. "All of them have family around here and in the Chickasha, Grady County area," according to Detective Thomas Adkins. Authorities say they have reached out to family members and let them know, in the case the inmates make an appearance.

Taking a look at Oklahoma's past, it's not an uncommon occurence to have inmates escaping any of the jails - why do you think we have the "hitchhikers may be escaping inmates" signs outside of them?

As early as 2012, people of Oklahoma have been concerned about the number of times escapees are caught where they shouldn't be. "I know the Department of Corrections has their hands full with the amount of people they put in prison,” then Woodward County Sherriff Gary Stanley had said. “I know it's a problem for them finding where to put these people, but I'm worried about the citizens in Woodward County."

And people have a reason to be concerned. There have been incidents of civilians catching "the flack" from these mistakes, such as the 86-year-old woman who had her car stolen by an inmate "after escaping in 2019."

Although this is a problem, many times authorities have been able to retrieve the missing criminals, like in the case of the two men who escaped in Pittsburg County. They also discussed how the two inmates were able to escape and you'll find that their method seems to be a common way for many others: through the air vents. Although it's been the case for others, we won't know about the three men from Anadarko's method until they're found.

In many cases, escapees are found within hours of escaping; however, reports say that the men escaped late in the previous evening, April 9, 2024. Within that time, the inmates could have time to find and change clothes, appearances and find a decent hiding spot. It's important to take a look at distinct features like tattoos, piercings, facial structures and major identifying marks that the inmates have.

Oklahomans in Caddo and surrounding counties, be prepared. Don't leave your cars unlocked, be aware of your surroundings and if you do spot the inmates, do not make contact with them. Simply and discreetly contact authorities.

UPDATE: Monday, May 13, 2024

The three inmates were located in the Oklahoma City area just before midnight on Friday, May 10. Authorities say that they don't believe they had outside help until they managed to escape.
