Local Animal Rescue Needing Tube Socks For Animal Recovery
Fishy's Friends Rescue, based out of Lawton, Oklahoma, is on a mission to help more than just the strays they pick up off the streets of Oklahoma. Thanks to a partnership with another nonprofit group in Wichita Falls, they're working to assist animals recovering from surgery.
They're asking animal lovers to donate tube socks and rice. Together, the items make DIY reusable heat packs for animals healing from surgery. They are asking that donations be in new or gently used condition with no holes. Unopened rice bags are preferred.
Donations can be dropped off at the Wildflower Boutique at 335 NW 2nd Street Lawton, Oklahoma. For those in the Wichita Falls area, reach out to the PETS Clinic for more information about their drive.

Along with collecting donation items, Fishy's Friends Rescue is hosting another adoption event for their adoptable pups on Saturday, May 31 at PetSmart in Lawton. Starting at 11 a.m. Currently, they have ten adoptable pups ranging from young, playful puppies to senior floofs.

Visitors can meet and interact with their adoptable pets at PetSmart, while learning about their personalities from the fosters they stay with. Fishy's Friends is one of the only rescues that solely relies on fosters, as they do not have a brick-and-mortar location to house animals.
They also stand out against other rescues because of their passion for specifically saving stray dogs rather than owner surrenders. Their focus for strays started with the very beginning story that inspired the founder to create the rescue. To find out more, click here.
