What To Expect At The 8th Annual Food Truck Championships

As if fair food wasn't tempting enough, this weekend also happens to be when one of the largest food truck contests goes down in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Ladies and gentleman, it's time for the 8th Annual Food Truck Championships (cue the John Cena intro music).

Every year, the best of the best food trucks in the state line the roads of Chickasha to find out who the real top dogs are. This free, family-friendly event lasts an entire day and it's not just the winners who walk away with goodies.

Never been to the food truck championships before? Don't worry, we have the run down for what to expect and what to look forward to most.

What kind of food will be at the Food Truck Championships?

The short answer is: all kinds!

This year, they'll have 33 food trucks lining the main road through Chickasha serving up their best food. They'll have unique takes on mexican food, american food, sweets and treats, Asian cuisine, soul food, special spuds and even more.

Special guest expected to appear at this year's Food Truck Championships.

Out of all of the foodies, you may notice someone taking a special interest at the event this weekend. Professional foodie, Trey Chapman, is returning to the Food Truck Championships this year.

He's appeared on national shows such as Dr. Phil, Merit Street Media, The Country Network - TCN, Fox Television, CBS Television, and many others.

Not only will visitors from all over the state be talking about the incredible Chickasha, Oklahoma, but so will he!

Food & music go hand in hand, here's the live music schedule for the Championships

Instead of a DJ or a playlist, the city of Chickasha adds live music to the experience. This year, they'll have the following:

TJ Wicks from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Twist of Fate from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Showdown from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Flying Cowboy from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
