Spooky season just got a little sweeter, Oklahoma!
This October, there are not only a ton of events to bring the kiddos to, but quite a few for the fur babies, as well. Some are meant for fun and memories, while others are perfect opportunties to take advantage of bargains before the end of the year.
Check out some of the events being planned for this fall in southwest Oklahoma and a few others around the state.
Last vaccine clinic with Comanche County Pet Resource Foundation of 2025.
On Saturday, October 4, the Comanche County Pet Resource Foundation will be setting up their last vaccine clinic of the year at Voodoo Hydro in Lawton, Oklahoma. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., owners can bring their pets in for basic vaccinations and not pay a dime.
Yes, vaccinations for both cats and dogs will be completely free, besides their Rabies (which is only $10). Make sure your animal is either on a leash or in a carrier.
Costumes, Treats & Everything Sweet at Elgin Animal Shelter Halloween Spooktacular
On Saturday, October 18, the Elgin Animal Shelter is inviting local pet vendors, rescues and community members to come and enjoy a fantastic pet festival.

They'll have live music, puppy weddings (yes, that's a thing) and even folks from Fishy's Friends Rescue for lwo cost microchipping.
Visitors are welcome to bring their own dogs and/or meet some of the shelter pups that are available for adoption at the Elgin Animal Shelter.
Oklahoma City Zoo hosts last adoption event for the year this October.
When you visit the OKC Zoo on Saturday, October 4, you'll likely see pups and people swarming the Rosser Conservation Education Center at the east end of the zoo. That's because the OKC Animal Welfare will be set up for their last adoption event at the OKC Zoo for 2025.
The previous adoption events have been incredibly successful and they're hoping to see more animal lovers there bring one of their pets home to stay.
