New this year will be the addition of an ice skating rink set-up at Elmer Thomas Park. Over the past few weeks, volunteers have been incredibly busy getting everything ready for this weekend.

It's a synthetic ice surface that's supposed to be like real ice. I can't wait to try this out. I've heard of synthetic ice rinks before, but have never had the chance to actually skate on one. It looks amazing!

They'll have skates available to rent throughout the holiday season if you'd like to give it a try yourself. Also, if you'd like to rent the rink itself for a private party you can do that too! Get all the details below:

There are also going to be all kinds of special events at the ice skating rink throughout the holiday season. From what we're hearing we may even get to see some hockey games, how cool would that be?

They're also going to have skating exhibitions and other performances. If you're interested in signing up for hockey or skating call the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce at (580)-355-3541

They even have limited edition "Holiday in the Park" hockey pucks! I can't wait to catch a game and hopefully grab a puck. I watch NHL (National Hockey League) all the time and love making games.

Another new addition to "Holiday in the Park" this year is the Christmas light tunnel. It's the longest holiday tunnel in the entire state. I can hardly wait to see it all lit up and walk through it. Volunteers have been hard at work for weeks on end putting this all together and have done an amazing job, a BIG THANKS to you all!

Some of the other holiday happenings and special events that will take place at Elmer Thomas Park this year include live music, petting zoos, vocal performances, Stories with Santa, movie nights, and more!

The best way to stay up to date with everything that's happening is to check the official Holiday in the Park Facebook page and the official Lawton, Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce Facebook page. We'll also keep you informed of all the holiday events on-air and online so check back for updates.
