If You’re Headed to the Lake This Memorial Day Weekend the City of Lawton has Some Safety Reminders for You
Memorial Day weekend is one of, if not the busiest weekends at the lake. Everyone wants to get out of the house and spend some quality time outdoors and hopefully grilling out. It's the perfect place to kick back, relax and enjoy the holiday weekend. Both Lake Lawtonka and Ellsworth will be very popular places to spend Memorial Day weekend this year. If you're planning on a trip to one of Lawton's lakes the City of Lawton has some saftey reminders for you and some general rules you'll need to follow while at the lake. Hard to believe Memorial Day weekend is almost here and unlike last year we'll actually get to go out and enjoy it!
As a reminder the City of Lawton would ask that when visiting lakes that you please not litter, or dump sewage. Respect the quite hours of 11:00pm until 7:00am. Keep 15 MPH speed limite in all the camping areas. No swimming pools of any kind are allowed. No glass beverage containers. All minors that are camping must be accompanied by and adult 18 years of age or older. All camping fees must be paid in cash or check only. All boating rules and regulations must be followed at all times. Golf carts are only allowed on campgrounds and must be registered with teh City of Lawton. Any other ATV usage like motor bikes, four wheelers, side by sides are strictly prohibited. No animals or pets are allowed in the day use picnic area, expect service animals and they must be on a leash.
