Fall Temperatures Finally Return To Oklahoma
It may be October, but it sure hasn't felt like it in Oklahoma. The heat has raged on for the beginning of fall, but now those crisp and cool fall mornings are finally in the forecast for Oklahoma.
Over the weekend, Oklahoma saw temperatures creep up into the high 90s. Since the beginning of October, Okies have spent some very warm weekends at football games and pumpkin patches. But Oklahomans may finally be able to break out their sweaters, or at least a long sleeve shirt.
A light frost may be possible on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
A cold front blew through Oklahoma on Sunday, Oct. 13, and brought in some cooler weather. But another cold front is expected on Tuesday, Oct. 15 that could bring fall temperatures to Oklahoma for good. Plus, a light frost is expected on Wednesday, Oct. 16 and it's expected to have the coldest morning for the next nine days. For the rest of the week, temperatures aren't expected to get over 80.
Fire danger is high in Oklahoma this week.
Even though temperatures will be cooler, the drought is still persistent in Oklahoma. And with the expected winds this week, fire danger is prevalent. Western Oklahoma will see elevated fire weather Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, while northern Oklahoma could see elevated fire weather on Friday. Luckily, rain is expected for the weekend.
Will it rain on Halloween in Oklahoma?
Last year, Oklahoma had freezing temperatures for Halloween and some areas experienced winter-like weather. The Farmers' Almanac is expecting Oklahoma to have dry weather on Halloween. It could also be a windy Halloween in Oklahoma this year. And the Oklahoma Mesonet is expecting Halloween's high temperatures to be chilly again this year.
