After 50 years of serving the Lawton/Fort Sill Community, one local furniture store has decided to close their doors for good. Since the owners, Jay and Kathy Kimbro, are retiring and getting out of the business completely, they are trying to sell any and all of their goods.

Kimbro Furniture served more than just the Lawton community. Often times, families from as far as Marlow, Duncan, Altus and Wichita Falls traveled to find what they needed here.

Now, there's only a few good things left and waiting for another family to take them in from the Kimbros one last time.

Lawton's only Amish furniture store closing their doors soon.

Earlier this year, the Kimbros decided that it was time to put the furniture away and celebrate the good life of retirement.

In May, they thanked the customers who've been keeping them going for 60 years and mentioned that they looked forward "to seeing you and helping you with all your furniture needs for many more years!!"

However, just a few months later in July, they announced via Facebook that they would begin the process of clearing out the shop during their retirement sale, saying:

"After 50 incredible years in business, we are officially retiring and closing the doors at Kimbro’s Furniture."

Everything in the Kimbro Furniture store must go, even if it takes all year.

Since the initial announcement, they've been reminding families that they still have goods that need to get out the door. They've already marked down prices on the furniture that they have left.

According to Kimbro Furniture, they are aiming to have all of their goods gone and sold by the end of the year. "It's a goal," they said, "but by January 1, 2026" is when they are aiming to close their doors for good.

To find out what they have left, visit them at 1303 NE 75th St, Lawton, OK 73507 or check their social media.
