Yet another business has announced that it's closing its doors permanently in Lawton, Fort Sill. If you haven't heard the news yet, the Stripes convenience store on the corner of 38th Street and Gore Boulevard is closing.

It's been there forever, at least as long as I can remember anyway. it will be weird not having a Stripes store on the corner once they shut down. There have been rumors about this for a few weeks, turns out it was true.

SCROLL DOWN TO SEE WHEN THE STRIPES ON 38TH & GORE WILL BE CLOSING

We stopped by this morning to get the details and ask about the rumors. The staff told us that it's officially confirmed and that they'll be closing the location later this month. The last day will be Tuesday, February 28th

That's not a lot of time, we're unsure of when the decision was made but most people are just now finding out about it, including us. At this time we don't know why it's closing, or what may end up being built there.

It's unfortunate that so many businesses have had to close recently. Most were due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the shutdowns that took place. A lot of businesses are still trying to recover.

NO WORD YET AS TO WHAT MAY END UP ON THE CORNER OF 38TH & GORE

There's also Bed Bath & Beyond who announced recently that they would be shutting down and leaving Lawton, Fort Sill. You can click here to get the details. It seems for every business opening, one is closing.

Let's all hope that another carwash isn't going in on 38th and Gore once Stripes closes. Or another dispensary. Although it's a prime location and there isn't another carwash or dispensary in at least 2 blocks.
