Just in time for this weekend's forecast of bleak weather conditions, the Oklahoma Dept. of Transportation and Oklahoma Highway patrol have launched a new online service advising travelers of possible road conditions that would hamper their trip.

A strong cold front threatens to drop temperatures into the 20s by the mid-day on Saturday and could be accompanied with winds of more than 30 mph and a chance of snow. The potential of single-digit wind chills and winter weather prompted several parade and activity organizers to alter or cancel their plans.

OHP & ODOT have teamed-up to give travelers a new resource providing up-to-date information on road conditions to facilitate travel conditions. The new weather map allows the viewer to look at the current days conditions, road closings and forecasted weather conditions.

The map can be viewed on-line at www.okroads.org.
