Santa Might Not Visit These Crime-Infested Oklahoma Towns
We all know that all communities have their own problems, but some Oklahoma towns rank pretty high on the naughty list.
While big crimes like murder are relatively low across the Sooner State, they still happen. Other violent crimes like rape and aggravated assault happen at rates even higher than the huge population centers outside our state.
Current claim to fame, Oklahoma is the number one state for domestic violence against both men and women. Highest in the nation.
On the other side of that is Oklahoma's non-violent and property crime rate. It's a massive problem, especially in the small rural towns of the state.
If you ever thought theft and burglary were bad in the larger cities of the Sooner State, you haven't spent enough time out in the sticks. You're even more likely to be stolen from in the small Mayberry-type towns like Hollis, Braman, and Yale.
Left your mower on the lawn to grab a drink and take a rest? Gone in a flash. Even reports of stolen dogs have become shockingly common in the last year, taken from locked backyards.
Farmers can tell you all about it. As most Oklahoma farms are mostly unsecured, equipment and livestock just disappear and the owners usually won't notice for days or weeks.
Law enforcement is doing what it can to step up efforts to deter criminal activity, but if I were Santa Claus, I'd almost be afraid my cheerful gift-giving might give the wrong impression to those protectors.
Add in the truly dangerous areas of the state where gunshots ring out like an hourly clock tower, I don't even know if his Christmas magic is enough to protect him these days.
While there's still time for every community to get back on the nice list, here are the most dangerous towns in the Sooner State that Santa might just skip over for his own well-being.
