The new and improved Sparklight has made yet another significant improvement to Lawton, Oklahoma. They decided to award a $7,500 grant to a local meal service for the elderly and disabled, Lawton Mobile Meals. They were able to do so through the company's Charitable Giving Fund.

Lawton Mobile Meals serves meals to those who live alone or as a couple, are elderly or in poor health or have been just released from the hospital and referred by a doctor. The funds from the grant will be able to cover the fees for several meals that the Mobile Meal service charges to keep their wheels spinning.

Earlier this year, Sparklight awarded more than $125,000 in grants to 27 nonprofit organizations across Oklahoma.

They wrote in their recent press release that the grants ranged "from children’s advocacy programs and mental health services to food banks and emergency response providers. The funding will help advance essential services that uplift lives and strengthen communities."

There's a difference between businesses who care for their community and those who care for the cold hard cash. Sparklight has been proving themselves with their actions, but they've made it known that they enjoy giving back to the people they serve.

"These nonprofits are the heartbeat of our neighborhoods, and we’re honored to help amplify their work through the Charitable Giving Fund," said Kenny Walker, Sparklight Senior Regional Director, South Central.

What goes around comes back around.

Lawton Mobile Meals director, Belinda Anderson, also spoke highly of the partnership they've formed.

"We are blessed and grateful for Sparklight’s support,” she said. “This partnership allows us to continue serving those who need us most with reliable, nutritious meals and caring connections that truly make a difference in their lives.”

Other non-profit organizations can work alongside Sparklight by applying to the Charitable Giving Fund. Bear in mind "one award will be given per organization during a 12-month period." They also have specific requirements for organizations needing funding that you can find out more about here.
